WHO: Anduin & Wrathion
WHEN: Present-ish, following this conversation
WHERE: Their accommodations
WHAT: Anduin receives an assignment from the Merchant; having absolutely no idea how to handle this, he be panicking a little
WARNINGS: discussion of Wrathion's history with content including draconic slavery/experimentation/forced breeding
Anduin paces back and forth along the length of the room -- their room, he supposes he should consider it, though he is still having some trouble adjusting to that fact -- his hands clasped behind his back and a troubled expression on his face.
He supposes he might have expected a message from the Merchant sooner or later. Anduin has questioned the man's motivations in aiding the displaced otherworlders from the start, Anduin's distrust of his motivations only growing the more that he had learned about the strings the man was pulling behind the scenes of the rebellion. With the debt that is owed to the man from the way that he had rescued them from the desert, it stands to reason that he would come knocking, asking for some sort of compensation. When the message finally comes, however...
Anduin feels as though a mistake has been made. Or is it a test? Of his resolve? His dedication to the cause? Whatever the Merchant's motivations are for having chosen Anduin himself for this particular assignment, they can't be good.

Anduin swallows past a lump that settles in his throat, unbidden. It feels -- oddly vulnerable, to hear such observations made about himself, from someone who knows him as well as Wrathion does. Or perhaps it is only hearing them aloud that is what does it...
"Thank you, Wrathion," he says, after a long moment. "Your words give me courage."
He moves to sit himself up a little straighter. "And you're right. I will never be able to please them all, I -- I do know that. But I cannot forget myself in the attempt. There will be those who disapprove of my rulings, but perhaps. In time they will come to understand that violence only begets violence, and with such a decision I would rather break us all free from such a cycle."
He turns aside to quirk a small smile at Wrathion, before adding, "One can only hope, anyway."

Wrathion takes a last sip from his bowl then reaches to set it safely out of the way, one hand lifting to hesitantly brush over his moustache to make sure its free from stew.
"Someone once told me that with the support of friends, nothing is impossible. I had doubts at the time, but I have come to believe there is some truth in it."
He folds himself more firmly into his blankets, eyes drifting over to the fireplace. Certainly, it could be noted he has achieved far more with the help of others than he did simply trying to control things alone. What was it Chi-ji had said? Think of hope not as a vague and unimaginable future, instead live every day with hope in your heart and in doing so create the future you dream of.
It had seemed... fanciful thing, like pretty words. Yet in truth, there is something to be said about the determination created when you hold on tightly to your ideals. A strong belief in yourself is a powerful fuel.

"It is good advice," he agrees, moving to pull his own set of blankets more firmly across his shoulders. "It is certainly much easier to believe in yourself, if there are those at your side who believe in you too."
He turns to glance pointedly at Wrathion, before reaching forward for a stick to stoke the fire.
"We can plot the future of Sylvanas Windrunner another time," he says at last. "I have kept you up for long enough, but you should rest now. You have had quite the day."
