Little snippets of conversation ran through his mind like whispers, but every time he sought to snag one of the memories, it disappeared like smoke.
The knight sighed and slightly shook his head. "Then we must be vigilant, and keep our eyes on the merchant and those that we hold dear."

At Hendrik's show of resolve, Lily nodded in firm agreement. "We must also be careful that we do as little damage as possible here. The Merchant's motives are unclear, no one knows for sure if he leads us to these places for a reason - we do seem to travel with chaos in our wake after all."

And during that chat he had plenty of questions and had asked them one after the other.
Of course he didn't like the idea of chaos at all, having dealt with it plenty back home. "Then those are even more reasons to keep an eye on him and see if there is indeed a pattern to his madness."

"And you? Have you been alright since returning? This village isn't precisely the most conventional place to hang our hats, is it?"

Hendrik then looked at Lily when she asked if he had been alright. There was no way he was getting into the trials and tribulations that had awaited him upon arrival. "Indeed. This whole world seems to be nothing but turned upside down. I have heard naught but tales of ill deeds being committed here."
