“Did I say you should?” He asked quietly.
He didn’t pull at his wrists, just kept solid and still as the man sat poised above him.
“You could come with me.”

"Tell him something came up." Mingyu smirked, briefly pausing in his work to look up at Lee Chang's face. "You."

It was very tempting to lie here in Mingyu’s bed and forget the world for a while. But something was still nagging at the back of his mind, despite the words that came between. At least the others are honest to themselves and pay me for my time. He suked in another breath and shut his eyes. Why couldn’t he just - let himself enjoy whatever it was they were? What did it matter if he was the only one or not? He never would be. At the very least, he would be sharing his love with a ghost. And yet it still gnawed at him, clawing from the inside as his fingers curled in Mingyu’s grip.
He parted his lips, about to ask, but the words wouldn’t rise to his lips.
Instead, he just pulled his head and shoulders up off the bed, straining his arms backward where they were still pinned, and stole another kiss from those deadly beautiful lips.

And then he stopped.
He sat up, released Lee Chang, and slid out of his lap.
"Do send Wangji my regards."

He swung his legs over the side, and tried to rearrange his robes to hide his - ah - obvious excitement. It was a little of a lost cause but at least maybe it wouldn’t be immediately visible when he left the room.
“Are--” No, wrong question. Mingyu was definitely working, and asking him if he was going to was just going to make Lee Chang feel worse. He changed tack. “How late are you working tonight? Will you need a drink after?”
He couldn’t bring himself to ask Can I come see you tonight, not willing to hear or think about himself in the same group as all the other men who came to Mingyu’s bed. Even though, by all rights, and Mingyu’s admission, he was barely any different than any of them.

"Dinner, too, if you don't mind. Bring a change of clothes, if you have one," he teased gently, thought for a second, and handed Lee Chang the rest of his purse.
"...get some, if you don't have one. I'll see you after."

He paused, knowing that there was something he could - or should - say, and yet not being able to find it on his tongue. Instead he just made a low sound and leaned in to steal a much softer, gentler kiss.
“Be careful,” was all he murmured, before he turned to leave.
