Has Goose ever swallowed me? No. So I can't speak to what your actual experience will be, but I will say that I've see many people come out the other side perfectly fine and only minimal therapy needed.

[Also a lot of people come out the other side not fine, but that's not important for this conversation.]

[ Ben smiles right back at Five, lips taut, daring Five to say something, anything, to him. ]

I doubt we'll need therapy. [ Ben so easily speaks for all of them. But after their experiences, surely, being swallowed by a cat with tentacles won't be any more traumatic than some of the things they've experienced. ]

[somebadnews]

[ He scoffs at the idea of therapy; their family is a little far beyond help. As witnessed by everything currently under discussion. Five already agreed to this, but that doesn't mean he's not going to at least get a sense of what they're getting into. ]

Many. [ He's not going to miss that many doesn't mean all. ] So it's not actually trying to eat anyone, or is it up to you to get them back out?

It's ... honestly I haven't done extensive studies on flerken biology because one, Goose is one of the friendlier examples of the species and they don't normally like making friends, and two, they're fairly rare as a rule.

[Speaking of, said flerken hears a familiar voice and hops up onto Carol's shoulder to get a better look.]

Now, does Goose eat people that she does not spit up? Yes. But do the people she does spit up show any signs of acid damage that would indicate you're being held in a stomach or something? No. Everything she's spit up has remained intact.

[stomacles]

[ Ben perks up when Goose shows. ]

Hey, Goose! You're not going to eat us, I know.

[ He looks to Five. ] Does that help, at all?

[somebadnews]

[ He looks to Ben again, but he should know that his pessimism is rooted in a long history of things not working out. Or more like the worst possible scenario almost always being the way these things go.

Doesn’t mean that he forgot that he already agreed to this. Back to Carol (and Goose), he frowns and gets to the only way he’s going to feel alright about this: ]

I want to try it. [ ‘Want’ is a strong word, but he’s sticking to it. ] Before we go through the beacon, I want to know what to expect.

Okay.

[Carol's not going to try and debate him out of it. Better he knows what to expect now than panic in the moment when they need to move fast.]

Where do you want to meet?

[stomacles]

[ Ben gives a turned down smile and shrugs. ] I'll try it, too. Why not.

[ He turns to Five. ] Any idea where a good place for this would be?

[somebadnews]

[ Five firms his jaw when Ben volunteers to go along. How is he supposed to make sure it's safe if Ben goes in with him? But he keeps his head and nods. ]

Fine. You can go after me. [ Frowning. Is that any better? He's extending a level of trust that he's already regretting. As for where... he gives it some consideration, but ultimately decides against sneaking out where Allison can't find them.

(It's absolutely not his fault if she goes off to talk to Kamala when they do this experiment. Completely unintentional.) ]

Here's as good of a place as any. Tell us where you are and I'll pick you up.

[Like in a car? Carol frowns at the phrasing about picking her up, but she will spin the camera around to show a few landmarks to help him figure out where she is.]

Does that help? I'm not far from the market.

[stomacles]

Fine, after you.

[ Ben just wants to help, since he was so into this idea, so it's partly his responsibility they are doing this. But if Five is going to insist going first, Ben isn't going to stop him, either. ]

[ Recognizing the spot, he turns to Five. ] Good?

[somebadnews]

[ Five nods to Ben, then he's gone in a flash, only to appear (on screen, in Ben's case) behind Carol. He eyes her and the cat with a frown. Ordinarily he'd blink them back without asking, he just doesn't trust that it won't run off the second he reaches for her. ]

Got a good hold on it?

[ Once he gets confirmation that she won't drop their only ticket out of here, he'll grab her arm and take her back to where he and his siblings are holed up. He's not entirely sure what effects blinking has on small animals, but he'll take the risk in the spirit of getting this over with. ]

[Goose begrudgingly crawls down into Carol's arms and once they arrive, lets out a discontent meow until she is put down. Carol obliges, letting her sniff around and explore the new place, while Carol looks around herself.]
