[ Ben shrugs a little. ] I made peace with it before I got pulled here.

I feel very fortunate to have gained a few more months. With my siblings, no less. That's pretty blessed, I think.

[ He looks back to Goose. ] I'm not sure we want to go home, to be honest.

[captain_marvel]

I wouldn't blame you, if those were the stakes.

[She crosses her arms in front of her chest, leaning against a nearby wall.]

So are you planning on sticking around here?

[stomacles]

We haven't figured it out. I want to stick with my siblings, if possible.

[ he keeps petting Goose. ] What's your world like, anyway?

[captain_marvel]

[She shrugs.]

I think that depends on what your scale of normal is.

[Says the superhuman with an alien tentacle cat.]

But there are a lot of people with super powers? And I spend a lot of my time in space.

[stomacles]

[ Ben shrugs, mildly, and looks up at Carol with a big grin. ]

I come from a family of super-powered people. And I died 17years ago and spent that time stuck to one of my brothers that can see and communicate with the dead.

Safe to say my idea of normal might be above average.

Could we go to space with you? Or is that for work, or something?

[captain_marvel]

I have a ship. I don't think I could take a ton of people but I could take a handful.

[They managed with Kamala and Monica, so they could probably do the same with Ben and his siblings.]

Though I promised I'd stay on Earth for a little while, but if you do come you'll probably need some time to adjust. That being said, I do know a guy who's good for turning people who are not local into locals.

[stomacles]

I would love to see space. [ Ben smiles, realizing this is becoming more and more of a reality. Some place to go, where he's not automatically dead, and fighting the apocalypse every other month ( so he thinks )? Yeah. He could get used to that. ]

That kind of guy sounds like he could come in handy. What would he need in return?

[captain_marvel]

I've got about twenty five years of IOUs to cash in. Don't worry about it.

[Let's not put more superheroes on Fury's radar any more than they have to. Fury may mostly be an administrative cat dad, but he's still a spy.]

[stomacles]

That's a lot of years for someone to owe you things.

What exactly do you do? [ Ben probably wouldn't like to be a superhero. All he can do is painful and uncomfortable, anyway. And he's...well, far more violent than the Avengers. ]

[captain_marvel]

Solve problems?

[Kind of?]

I mostly just go where I'm needed and try to make things better. Don't always succeed though. I wasn't always good at seeing the long game.

[stomacles]

That I could probably help with.

Just...how would we get to your world? Assuming my siblings agree to this.

[captain_marvel]

Well, the problem is making sure that you don't get bounced back to your world, right?

[There's a pause, and then she looks down at Goose again. Her head tips to the side, as she says.]

You know, we once evacuated an entire space station by having a family of flerken eat them.

[stomacles]

[ This time, Ben looks up at Carol, stops petting Goose, then abandons his new friend entirely to step back up. ]

What is a flerken? And when you say eat...? I mean, I assume these people were somehow safe?

[captain_marvel]

That is a flerken.

[She points down to Goose, who is sitting at his feet, squinting up with mild annoyance, because she's not being pet anymore. Her eyes then catch sight of a mouse and rather than chasing it like a normal cat would, Ben is treated to a flurry of tentacles reaching forward to snatch up the mouse and pull it back into Goose's mouth.

Carol's lips purse briefly.]

It is much safer than that demonstration implies, at least physically. But there were hundreds of people and not enough escape pods. I'm not saying that the process is incredibly pleasant? But I figure the beacon can't shuffle you to your world by pulling you out of Goose.

[stomacles]

[ Ben just stares as he watches. At least, the process doesn't seem to hurt Goose - and noted. This is a flerken. His mouth remains open, then he, slowly, goes back down to kneeling on Goose's level. ]

We're similar, you and I. [ He tilts his head. ] But you're better if you can transport people. I can't do that.

[ He puts out his hand again, to see if Goose will let him go back to petting, then looks up at Carol. ]

I'm fine with some discomfort if it means we have a way of transporting.

[captain_marvel]

[She nods, before giving a shrug.]

I don't know a lot about this magic stuff. We'd have to ask Dr. Strange or someone else who knows more. But it's worked for us in the past.

[stomacles]

Let me run it by my siblings. You just gave us a real way out of here.

[ Ben shakes his head, trying to dispel shock over that. Is it really so surprising? After everything he's been through and seen. Even if it doesn't work, this is one chance he has to take. ]

[captain_marvel]

Happy to help. How many of you are there?

[Just so she knows how much indigestion they may have to deal with.]

[stomacles]

Three. That's not too much, is it?

[ To Goose. ] One day I'll show you my tentacles, too.

[captain_marvel]

[She shakes her head.]

No, that should be fine. She's swallowed worse.

[Goose purrs because it's true. She has swallowed many a bad guy who's causing problems and rarely gets a hint of indigestion.]

[stomacles]

Good. [ Ben smiles to the purring. He's totally taken with Goose. Carol's pretty cute, too. ]

I'll get with my siblings and let you know what they say.

[captain_marvel]

Sounds good.

[She glances down, before smiling.]

I gotta go track down Kamala, so I'll leave you two to hang out.

[Goose will find her when she's done mooning over her new best friend.]
