no her
To go through, to stay.
So she could stay. ) Yeah. Emilia went back then returned in like a few seconds so. ( She does love the way 'fucked up' sounds in Hermione's accent, in her tone, and for a moment, it at least distracts her from the ache rattling around in his rib cage. ) I love it when you say fuck.
( A pause, and she pulls back slow to look at Hermione's face, lingering before: ) ...you didn't know the beacon was back up?

She manages a sheepish smile when Red pulls back to look at her, mostly because of that whole I love it when you say fuck ordeal. Is her accent that thick, or is Red aware that she was, up until recently, the well-mannered part of a trio? ]
Ah...yes. I should probably stop brewing in confined spaces, I think it muddles the senses.
[ Such a lie feels bad on her tongue, and Hermione sighs. ] Alright, that's an utter lie, I've very good brewing manners - I must've deliberately just...ignored it. What if the choice is leave and not get to say goodbye? I couldn't, Red...

( It's not like it would just totally be out of her radar unless she refused to see it, but she gets wanting to deliberately ignore it, to not let oneself actually face it at all. Her throat locks, and she breathes out. )
I think it happens pretty quick. So yeah, the beacon's activated, people line up, and then they're just... gone.
You'd have to say your goodbyes before you went. ( Her hand rests over Hermione's, squeezing it tight as if the thought alone is- She doesn't let herself linger on it. Can't. )

She lets out a sigh and squeezes Red's hand back. ] I'm not ready to face that. I'm not...
[ Here, a helpless shrug. ] What if I see this through to the end of whatever line points us east? What if I stick around just to make sure that...that everyone makes it back alright.
[ Although, at this, she pauses, taking in the girl in front of her. Would Red want to return to wherever she's from? There are plenty of people around who wouldn't, for many reasons that are all their own, but she hasn't asked Red this question.
And if it came down to it, would it matter? Would the beacon care, if Hermione grabbed Red's hand and took her along with her, instead? Would it work?
Silly thinking. ]
Truth is, it's a mystery - what is East? I'm more curious than I should be, I guess.

( Red's face does become a grimace at the thought of making it back alright to her own world herself, though. She does not want to go, but she is also aware she can't stay here and can't avoid returning as much as she might want to. Her hand remains in Hermione's, and she shakes her head.
There's something of a smile. )
Why can't you be curious about it?
People believe- they have always fought to believe that they can forge their own paths, their own destinies. It might not always work out, but nothing would ever change if no one ever tried.
Maybe you can see what's to the East. ( Even if she has a world to return to, even if- )
