[The commotion had drawn Wanda's attention. Self-preservation isn't entirely high on her list, and the curiosity she feels is a nice change of pace. So, she makes her way to this burst of noise and power (of some sort), and frowns when she finds what she assumes is the cause. A weeping woman.

Wanda can't say she hasn't been there.]

What happened to you?

[That's one place to start. Asking if she's okay would be absurd.]

[rumorate]

[It's a startling question, especially from someone she doesn't know. She doesn't know, yet, how alike her and Wanda's stories actually are.

She's not quite as alone as Wanda is. Most of her siblings are still alive. But in Allison's mind, the world begins and ends with her daughter, and she doesn't know how to get past that.]

I was inches away from getting my daughter back, and before I could do it, I woke up here.

[There's less confusion with that, as this is a situation she's found herself in before.]

And of course the fucking beacon that sent me home in the first place has decided to no longer work.

[The blunt question was asked without too much investment, but the moment she mentions a daughter, Wanda feels the tug at her heart.

No wonder she's so distraught. She's a mother.]

I'm sorry.

[The words are softer, and Wanda glances around them before her shoulders relax a touch.]

You know the group, then?

[Because Wanda sure as hell doesn't, not in any regard as friends yet, but hopefully she knows someone better equipped to handle all this... grief.]

Yeah. I've been here ... about a year, I think. Maybe a little longer. It's hard to tell sometimes.

[She gestures to the beacon behind them.]

That piece of shit was supposed to send us home. And it worked long enough for my life to get completely fucked again and then drop me right back here.

[So yeah. She's having a time.]

Seems like a trend.

[Hey, her life was completely fucked before she came here, too.]

It might be better for it to be out of your sight.

[rumorate]

Yeah, that's probably a good idea.

[If she hadn't been spiraling out, she might have thought of it sooner. She starts to push up to her feet, wondering how much time they have before they have to pack up and leave, head off to the next disaster this world has to offer.]

[She introduces herself with a nod, letting Allison get herself up.]

Let's walk.

[At least she can lead her away from the sight of the beacon.]

[Allison nods as she falls into step next to her, letting her eyes scan the horizon to try and gauge how much has changed.]

Have you talked to Kasra yet? Or the Merchant?

Karsa told me a bit about what's been going on. [In one ear and out the other, mostly.] Never a dull moment, sounds like.

[rumorate]

No, there's not. I'm sure the Merchant would wish that we would stop starting fires everywhere we go, but I think we're getting better at not going completely scorched earth.

[A beat.]

We have started at least one coup though.

At least one coup.

[She repeats, somewhat amused by how casually she's said it.]

Did we finish it?

[rumorate]

Kind of? Someone new took control but the people weren't really looking for our input towards the end. It was a mess.

[So they left. Probably for the best.]

We're about fifty-fifty for leaving things better than we found it?

[westviews]

[Better than her own track record.]

Could be worse. Though I don't think anyone would be pleased if our reputation precedes us.

[rumorate]

I don't think information travels that quickly here. It's like days worth of travel between and they don't exactly phone lines.

[But she does have a point.]

So hopefully we don't have that much of a reputation to precede us.

So, this isn't the worst place to be.

[A beat, and Wanda adds,]

Just not where you wish to be right now.

[rumorate]

[She nods, slowly, because that's an accurate assessment. It's not perfect, but it will keep you busy, if nothing else.]

Unfortunately not. But I'll get over it. I've become accustomed to not getting what I want.

[And that's said with a fair share of bitterness.]
