[Ships aren't Kanesada's favorite form of travel. Yeah, sure, theyre fine and practical a lot of the time and he doesn't hate sailing, but it makes him a little nervous.
A lot of Japanese swords have been lost to the depths. Needless to say he keeps his distance from the sides of this ship, so as not to tempt fate.
But while he's here on this ship, he keeps an eye out for anyone he knows, just to keep tabs. Except there's one man he hasn't seen in a while, someone he cares about probably a little too much.
Hijikata Toshizou.
So when he doesn't see him above-decks, Kanesada heads below and starts looking around the sleeping quarters.
Hijikata-san?
[He tries not to raise his voice to spare the crew and passengers who will be keeping the night watch, but also apologizes when he inevitably knocks on the wrong cabin or rouses a cranky man. Still, he's determined.]
Hijikata-san, where are you?
[Kanesada shouldn't be so attached to a man who isn't even the same one he's ways known. If he hadn't worked himself into a partial lie of being a Shinsengumi member, he would be best off not interacting at all. But here he is. Trying to find one man in a ship packed far too tightly for the ease of his mission.]
