He doesn't like the way he's focused in on him, even if he says it as a fact and not an outright concern. It's never bothered him what people think of him, so it shouldn't matter if he seems lonely. Or if it's because he was alone for so long that he forgot how to be a person. Relating is difficult, and figuring out why people act like they do is harder still.
