Wrath's quick reaction was greatly appreciated by Benedict. An inky smoke formed around the detecive, hesitated at the creature's death, and then shifted rapidly from the beginnings of a protective barrier to spears that darted out swiftly and latched onto the nearest stable wall. The ink solidified into lengthy limbs, tentacles, that eagerly pulled Benedict from his trapped position and left him standing, stumbling to catch his balance, back upon the ground some distance away. They disappeared.
Benedict shook off the momentum and mouthed something like that wasn't really necessary but he seemed relieved nonetheless. It seemed someone didn't like Its person being tied up. Benedict walked back towards Wrath part of the way.
"Thanks. I can't believe I let that happen," he said almost apologetically. He should have been paying better attention. There was more than one of these creatures around here.
