That's all quite interesting, Benedict thinks. But once he's heard the old puppeteer say his fill he realizes the man probably doesn't have much else to give in the way of clues. A pity but he'll move on swiftly in search of more information.

Benedict will move on to search the crowd of onlookers then. He'll search for signs of a young girl or lady matching Cosette's description on the off chance he can spot her or a being of her likeness lingering in the area. But of course he doesn't really think he's going to find her that easily, so while he's doing that he'll ask around the crowd itself about her, hoping someone will have any information or can point him in a direction--or can tell him more about the story if anyone seems to have any idea where it came from or recognized it as familiar in any way. He'll keep a keen eye out for anyone suspicious to interrogate specifically but anyone willing to talk to him will do if nothing stands out.

I guess in simplified fashion the question would be: is there any way he can confirm the play's story was a real memory of someone, or find anyone who's willing to talk openly about Cosette and Mathias's relationship?
