Benedict saluted with his bayonet as Wrath protected him from the venomous sting then got back to his feet proper. He darted forward again as the scorpion was once more occupied with Wrath's nimble dodging. This time he got more than one strike against the leg's weak point and he heard it when his blade struck deep into the softer tissue. He also heard the bellow that followed as Benedict wrenched his bayonet free, tearing the meaty tissue asunder.

It still had plenty more legs with which to compensate but it gave them a slight advantage on speed and reaction as the creature endured the loss and pain of a severed limb.

The detective didn't slow down yet either. He suddenly took out his pistol and aimed rapidly at one of the weapons bearing down on Wrath. The demon probably wasn't in any more danger than two seconds ago but Benedict didn't like being in his debt. He shot the hand of the beast and the weapon went flying from its grasp. Benedict returned his pistol to its holster and carefully dodged several legs as the scorpion tried to stomp on him in retaliation. His next target was chosen as he danced out of the way, another leg to chop once he got the chance--let them see how well it could compensate with two of its legs missing from one side.
