In turn, Benedict took the distraction of Wrath's hit and run to do some damage of his own. He dashed forward with his bayonet ready to land a slash across its limbs. He aimed for the breaks in the natural armor where the joints were, hoping to lop a leg off with enough well placed attacks to the same spot over time. His first strike was successful and then suddenly he had the attention of the beast.
He heard his Companion's shout of warning half a second before he saw the creature's form shift. He glanced upwards in time to see a giant sword headed straight for him. Benedict leapt backwards just in time. The clang of the metal weapon vibrated through his feet and he winced. Best not to get hit with that.
He was less lucky to dodge the leg that flailed out after him in follow up and he stumbled backwards, eyes widening as he saw the scorpion's tail rise up again and turn towards him to strike while he was off balance.
