If they could transport the remains that far, would that not be the best place for them? The people there are, he is distantly aware, not fans of the castle or its inhabitants. The fear the curse, he'd guess, among other things. Hopefully moving the remains there would not... spread the curse to the village? Hopefully putting them to rest would, in fact, alleviate things? That's the best case scenario, he suspects. He'll opt to not think about the worst case in too much detail.
