Sure — (vaguely) on the topic of mapmaking, the Whale can share that the actual maritime and land borders of Ephes are actually a fair bit farther out than the current territory actually occupied by the citadel. Ephes doesn't stretch to its full capacity because of incidents of a strange, viscous tar-like dark water that affects both ground and sea. On land, it creates drought and brittle territory. At sea, and this the Whale (a now cursed former sailor) has seen first hand, it can poison fish life and leads to pockets of stormy weather. The dark water has been increasingly spreading in and forcing Ephes to slowly reduce its size (to such an extent that people who don't farm or sail would probably not even notice), since the God of Chaos was chained, centuries prior.

Comparing maps of old and new Ephes would also confirm that.
