Obediently Wen Kexing takes Jacob's belongings, holding them carefully in the crook of his arm. He's half tempted to examine them, see what he might find out about his companion from cloak and gauntlet alone, but in the end he decides against it. The fight is interesting enough anyway, the impact of Jacob's fist still heard amidst all the revelry.

"He's done a few jobs for me before," Wen Kexing tells Livius in a tone that is at once bored and yet somehow secretive. It helps to have him think that he's winning something, by taking one of his treasured accomplices on board. "Astute, but not too much that he questions orders."

The fight continues, he watches it with one eye, making a note to ask Jacob to spar with him one day. His style is different, Wen Kexing wants to learn it. Livius interrupts his thoughts by asking why he would give away such an asset and he hums, "Ah, I'm a legitimate businessman, don't you know? I can't have men like him hanging around."

The laugh he gets in response is loud, a clap on his shoulder that has him briefly pulling a face before he's all smiles again.

"Besides, he'd fit in here, wouldn't he?"

And just like that, Livius is making noises of agreement, assessing the man before him like one would a hunting dog or a prize ox.
