It would involve too much explaining, and Jacob knows he'd get some of the details wrong in the retelling. Besides, he doesn't want to act like some boffin in front of Anduin. He doesn't want to seem like a bookworm, someone that Anduin might think isn't strong or tough or good in a fight.

Which is bloody silly. And that's why he takes a drink, smiling as Anduin asks his question.
