[ Oh, Doctor.

Lockwood was someone the Doctor, particularly this Doctor, should run far away from and the boy would be the most vocal about that fact if he had even an inkling of what lay in the Time Lord's past. To anyone else those words 'I don't like losing track of anyone...' would have been completely harmless. But in Lockwood they set off alarm bells.

Nothing that the boy can put a finger on, precisely, he doesn't know the Time Lord well enough for that. These are Lockwood's personal alarms. The ones tripped by the likes of Lucy, George, Flo and ... alright even Barnes. There won't be change in Lockwood's friendliness, if anything he'll seek to be even more charming and engaging, but what does happen is he shuts off any route of perceived weakness. ]

So somewhat like silver or iron? [ Lockwood responds to the latter words as he gets his legs under him and stands under his own power. He does it gracefully, his eyes never leaving the Doctor's face so it could simply be a case of him missing the hand reaching out to help him. Just didn't see you there, Sir! And though his legs feel like he just fell down the damn catafalque hole again, he remains steady as he smiles. ]

Right then, something to keep close. [ And with that, he wraps the shard up and tucks it into the interior pocket of his long coat. Then he'll reach out, and so long as the Doctor doesn't move away, Lockwood will tap the Time Lord's shoulder in a companionable way, seeking to get them both in motion. ]

Let's go check on the children, then see who else needs help.

[ It is subtle, discreet in a way that most humans would never notice, that reverse touch. But to someone who has been rattling around all of space and time for thousands of years? To someone who has built his own cautious barriers behind wide smiles and a boisterous voice? The unspoken 'I want to be your friend, but don't worry about me.' ]</small
