[ They are at the pier before he can respond and Lockwood sees no point to continuing to float in the water while he sought to satisfy his curiosity. Whether the Doctor was showing signs of fatigue or not, Lockwood's own protective instincts were engaged and were telling him to get them both out of the water.

Which is why, as soon as he was tipped up onto the pier, the younger man rolled onto his stomach and reached his hand down to grab at the Doctor. Come along, sir! He may not be at full strength, but he called on sheer determination to fish the Time Lord out of the murky depths. No mean feat, even if the Doctor was a slender man, his clothing was soaked and no doubt there was a risk of the pair of them ending up sprawled like beached fish on the pier.

Only once the Doctor is safely out of the water, will Lockwood roll over onto his back, huffing, as he sought to catch his breath. ]

Is it always this exciting around you lot? [ Oh, he'll circle back to the whole Time Lord physiology, sniffing the air and licking things, in a minute. ] Because seriously, I thought the dead refusing to stay dead was unique to my reality, but I'm starting to get the feeling that maybe my world was just keeping up with the Joneses.
