[Whatever magic or thrall or something that has taken hold of Cal is torn away when he is yanked back to shore. He snaps out of it and, upon registering the strength of the grip on his arm, immediately grasps back with his free hand. It isn't often someone can take him by surprise, so his instincts scream danger, danger!
The confusion lasts only a moment, though, and Cal relinquishes his hold on the other man's wrist when it's clear he was only trying to help. Glancing between his rescuer and the water, he shakes his head, trying to clear it.]
