Maybe it has very little to do with how dampened his power is, and more with the fact that Hermione has become desensitised to fear. Fear used to be a healthy reaction to most thing. Death Eaters, Snatchers, big ancient dragons. You would think she is reckless - and usually, she is - but the truth is that she is a little numb to it.
