In the flames, Yelena sees herself. She wields a knife, bloodied, the corresponding gash on her opponent's thigh. The woman she fights is well-trained, the pair evenly matched as they wrestle for the upper hand. Briefly, it looks as if Yelena will lose, brought to her knees and struggling against the other woman's grasp. Then she drops her knife, catches it with her free hand, and buries it in her opponent's gut. A horizontal slash carves across the abdomen, finishing her off. Yelena shoves the dying woman aside like garbage.

This isn't Yelena's first experience with such visions. She saw Natasha's final moments in Serthica's haunted tower. There is no threat of her falling for the same trick, but she watches her companion expectantly, clinging to hope that Emilia will see something else in the fire.
