( A deadly poison. Tongues in warded boxes. Slaying of undead lieges.
It would seem the four of them always come together under extreme circumstances, and if their current task is anything to go by, that trend isn't changing anytime soon. They've all agreed to take part in the raiding, and follow the Scavengers on a three-day walk to a hunting grounds chock-full of shifting dunes and massive sand worms.
Sounds about right for this world.
Though they stick close for the most part, they do break off into pairs at times to cover more ground. Emilia is on her way back to Allison, her hands woefully empty. For now. )
Did you find anything?

She lets her eyes scan as she speaks, just in case she can come up with an answer that isn't no.]
Not ... really - oh!
[A glint of gold comes up through the sand, if there's anything that Allison likes, it's sparkly things. She reaches for it, a piece of cloth between her fingers and the hot metal and pulls up a rather pretty gold and amethyst bracelet.]
This is actually really pretty.
[And just as soon as she's done paying it that compliment, the bracelet seems to rear back of her own volition, snapping around her wrist and she cries out in pain because this gold has been sitting in the desert. It's hot.]
What the fuck?!

No, what bothers her is the unfinished business left at home, a sentiment she knows Allison well shares. Her determination wars with her grudging resentment, but in the end, she never passes up an opportunity to gain more information, if not resources.
Her friend's cry immediately raises her hackles, but when Emilia comes to her, there is nothing attacking. Emilia follows Allison's line of sight toward the bracelet — indeed a pretty trinket — and carefully takes hold of her wrist to examine the bracelet from up close.
It's enchanted, all right. She tries a spell and it bounces right off of it. )
What in the seven hells...
no subject
[For now, at least. She's willing to bet there's a catch somewhere, but maybe it's not worth pushing things.]
There has to be a catch to get it off, though. There was no bones or anything.
[So it's previous owner didn't die with it on.]

( Emilia keeps a careful hold of Allison's wrist in an effort to sense as much of it as she can, allowing it to thrum over her skin. It doesn't feel malevolent at least, not in the sense that it means to harm Allison. But ... hrm.
Maybe the fast approaching company will, ah, enlighten them. )

His intention was to check in on them and what they'd discovered, but the second he shows up in a ripple of light, a horrible shrieking noise cuts off whatever he was going to say. He instinctively shoves his palms into his ears and looks around wildly to see if he triggered an alarm, seemingly ready to murder whatever he finds. He knew they were vulnerable out here in the desert and he didn't say a damn thing.
Finding nothing around them, he looks between the two and shouts over the piercing sound. ]
What is that?

It's still more subdued than the reaction of most, walking as if he is unaffected closer to them both.
His shoulders tense as his expression shifts into one of a grimace. His gaze first goes to his wife to be certain she is in one piece before it falls to the magical item attached to Allison at the wrist. )
...the bracelet.
no subject
[She'd love to try and throw it off her, but the more she tugs at it, the more it holds in place. She literally can't remove it, nor can she turn off the alarm. It's very rude, and unfortunate for a lot of her male friends if this is the precedent it's setting.]
Oh my god, shut up.
[That's directed at the bracelet, not her friends.]

To Wrath and Five: )
You are both absolutely the problem.
( What? She is being helpful. )
no subject
What does that mean? [ Why the fuck... Is it because they teleported over? ] Allison, where did you get that?
no subject
...I would imagine because we are both men.
( That makes the most sense as to why the bracelet would make such a sound with them near. It is not as if they are teleporting continuously, and Wrath and Emilia are similar in their readings in terms of magic, immortality, connections to Hell. )
no subject
[Which is really the most basic way of putting it.]
I don't know how to get it off.
no subject
I tried some spells to remove it, and it was of no use.
( But maybe he'll be successful? To her unending frustration, she's still not at full power. )
no subject
He takes a step towards his sister again to test the theory and stops when the volume increases. ]
Shit. [ Then he turns to Wrath, since he seems to have the answers. ] Can't you break it off?
no subject
He transvenio's closer once more, which only increases the screeching. His frown slips into the thinnest of grimaces as he stretches his hands toward Allison's bracelet, waiting for her to give permission before he reaches the rest of the way. )
...it's magically fused to her wrist.
( It may need some type of environmental trigger. His gaze drifts to Emilia and then back to the bracelet. )
A silencing spell may at least stop the screeching, but we would need a way to contain it. ( He usually casts one of those within a room. Do they have a box they can place over her hand....? )
no subject
[She can read the implications and she sighs.]
A lot of my friends are men, and a lot of the people in the caravan are men - I'd rather not scare them off from standing next to me.
[She honestly doesn't need a magical bracelet trying to Dot Matrix her. She's been married twice already for crying out loud.]
no subject
( Where her tone would usually carry finality, there's admittedly some doubt. Mostly concern. But determination dwarfs both of them, her fingertips smoothing over the gold bracelet. Her next attempt at a spell visibly bounces off.
Frustration etches itself openly into her expression. )
We'll find something to contain it, but in the meantime ( she looks to Five and Wrath ) you won't want to come too close.
no subject
Since they all seem to be so calm about it, he puts in the effort to suppress how extremely bothered he is. From the tension in his shoulders and the deep scowl on his face, he's only partially successful. ]
How close is too close?
