As much as she misses home, the one nice thing about being away is that nobody here can possibly recognize her or her surname. And nobody can judge her for it. So instead of trying to explain that her mother sits on the ruling council of a city-state that controls most of the world's trade, and therefore her parents have a lot of opinions about the type of person who should marry into the family, she simply says:
