Vanessa is quick to release him as soon as his hands glow, though she doesn't back away as she likely ought to. Her gaze is enraptured only for a few moments, however, as the growing vortex forces more of her attention. She remains still during the entire scene, understanding well by now that it is an illusion, but even she has to marvel at the cosmic beauty of it.

She had expected disaster, but nothing like this. She stands transfixed, heart squeezing tight in her chest as several others appear, perhaps to try and help Five, and Vanessa recognizes a couple of them. Allison had mentioned that there were other siblings, and so she can understand just how traumatizing it must be to see one's family...obliterated. There's no shielding him from the scene, as he wouldn't let her if she tried.

When he falls to her knees, it could be from heartbreak or from weakness. She knows the room is like to drain him, and although she feels for the pained confusion he must be experiencing, Vanessa understands that time isn't on their side.

She would kneel to offer him comfort, but she worries at her ability to easily get back up in her current state. Instead she looks down at him, knowing she's intruded on something that neither of them would have wished for.

"For once, I can assuredly say that I did not do this. Neither did you. I beg you to hold your grief, for none of it is real. The clocktower has been cursed by its host."
