( Red stares at the minotaur with her jaw locked, with her muscles tense, ready to launch herself at the beast with nothing but this more fragile body she finds herself in now. Her hackles are up, and she is still shaking - she doesn't know if he is alive, if she'll die when this thing hits her, if Vanessa will survive either. She's with the Doctor, but she hasn't said, and-
Her gaze snaps down to Vanessa at the sound, the hissing full of magic and command and words that Red has never heard before. She does recognize the power of it though. The dark, ancient, powerful aura within Vanessa flashes darker - the scent of that venom and blood stronger as she taps into this part of herself that she hasn't before while Red has been present.
The minotaur stops and then it turns toward them instead, toward the two people in this Labyrinth she cares so much about. )
No. No, no, you piece of shit. ( She yells this at the Minotaur, tossing more rocks, but she's ignored now, and so her voice comes out small and breathless: )
Vanessa? ( She swallows and then shakes her head, because this looks- it looks bad. Vanessa has something planned, doesn't she? Her own panic means she isn't even thinking straight about what she can do. It starts to move, and Red reacts, jumping at it wildly as some means of distraction, but she's tossed aside with ease, landing roughly on a boulder against her rib cage. It hurts like fuck. She groans, and she's already trying to push herself up again, trying to get to her feet, to chase, but she's not able to even stand fast enough.
The minotaur, however, has no issues moving forward. The hot breath leaves its nostrils, threatening an end. Its horns lowered, prepared to sink directly into the small woman ahead and the half conscious man in her lap, happy for their deaths, for their blood to be spilled. )
