Every second he spends inhaling spores and whatever miasma has clouded the area leaves him further disoriented. His legs quiver slightly as he uses what’s left of his non-boiled brain cells to concentrate on the simple act of walking to the fire pit.
As soon as he’s in range, he grabs the talisman, unsure if there is anything else needed aside from lighting it up. It almost feels anticlimactic holding it over the edge of the embers and watching it slowly burn. Meanwhile, his sight goes in and out of focus a few times, a sign that his present weakness might be starting to wane.
“How are you doing over there with the eye? Still making faces at it? I’m sure it’s not going to come back alive at this point…Mostly sure. Truthfully, I wouldn’t be surprised if it did start blinking out of nowhere.”
Definitely not helping, he knows, but he can’t brave looking over his shoulder at the moment for fear of making himself dizzy, so he’s trying to keep track of Alec by sound.
