( Red is grateful for Vanessa's hand up to a standing position so she isn't on her knees if this beast decides to lunge again. There's just a bruise across her neck, nothing more, impossible to see even in this lighting. Emotion swarms her chest stupidly now that she realizes how much danger both of them put themselves in to come back to get her like this. They could have used it as a chance to escape, to get out. She gets to her feet with her hand on Vanessa's arm, and then catches her breath. Vanessa's violent desire is shared, but then the Doctor takes a moment to check on her. He cradles her cheek and then kisses her forehead before turning to face the monster. It's enough to drain some of the violence in her for the surprise it brings her, staring up at him, struggling to process.

She moves slowly toward the axe to try not to draw its attention to her, but she wants to be armed, and she wants to cut its limbs off one by one if it even dares to lash out toward him or Vanessa or them both. )
