[Caitlyn doesn't correct him on the pronunciation. It seems as though it's a strange name to him, and it doesn't bother her to have it said a bit wrong.
Though she wouldn't consider herself a soldier, she's received enough enforcer training to recognize someone with military experience. She'll happily provide cover for him, trusting both his already-demonstrated fighting capabilities and his tactical know-how. She likes the man already, and not just because he saved her life.]
Yes. [She returns his smile with an easy smile of her own.] Together.
[Another cough. Her throat is still itching. She straightens her shoulders, trying to ease the strange discomfort that seems to be settling into her bones. But as her shoulders settle back, one of them snaps and she cries out at the sudden pain. She stumbles, one hand hitting the wall to brace herself upright as the other drops the rifle.
It's as though she can feel every bone stretching, contorting. More bones crack as they shift and change. Blue-black fur sprouts painfully along the backs of her arms. Her heartbeat is pounding in her temples. She can hear... everything. Every drip of water, every shift in Kahl's body and armor, every stirring of air. Her ears twitch. They couldn't do that before, but they're wrong, she knows something's wrong. Part of her mind is desperately trying to catalogue what's happening to her, to reason through it, but all of her rationality and reason are being violently suppressed by the part of her that's screaming for something she can't quite name.
She cries out again, but this time the sound is a growl. Her teeth feel too big, too sharp.
Blood.
That's what it wants, this newly awakened part of her.
When she finally looks back up at Kahl, it's with the hungry yellow eyes of a wolf.]
