[ After departing from Vanessa while the elegant woman went about her very convincing work, Fei ducks into another room to dismantle the curtains. She is by no means an actress, but they've gone over the ruse enough times that she can fake her way through being confident about wrapping herself up in the lengths of fabric she takes down and fashioning a kind of billowing shroud.
There's quite a bit of cord keeping her hair held back, as Fei is fond of keeping useful lengths of it wrapped up in her ponytail (they've come in handy before!), but once she shakes it all loose and moves her sword to her hip to conceal it, she thinks it just might work, out of her realm of knowledge as it is.
Prying the window open quietly proves to be more of a task than anticipated, one Fei hopes doesn't throw her timing off too badly. Once the last-minute adjustments to her shroud are made she tilts her head down and shakes her long dark hair into her face, hunching her shoulders and trying to seem as wraithlike and otherworldly as she can.
It's not exactly an award-winning portrayal, but the role isn't especially long either. She crouches by the window, peering inside while she flattens herself against the wall behind her, watching Vanessa's face and the expression of her patron.
Fei knows what someone in suspense looks like, but unfortunately, the person sitting across from Vanessa seems unimpressed. Resolutely, she straightens up and does her best to waft past the window while still being quick about it.
Quick to duck out of sight once the deed was done she hustles to get back into the window and right herself again so that she can rejoin the party and continue to carry out the job she'd been given. ]
