[ By the time he manages to convince Bones to get some rest, Jim's completely exhausted by the day too, but he can't bring himself to fall asleep. He takes up the hammock closest to Bones's, then spends the following hours either watching the doctor, making sure he's alright and sleeping, and worrying over the thought that Bones might not get his memories back at all, ever.

Meeting Bones here was already difficult enough, finding they were from such distant points in time, but at least Bones knew him, at least he had three years worth of memories of him, of their friendship. He's not sure if he can cope with losing him again like this.

But he'll have to, if it comes down to that. What other choice is there? Besides, Bones became friends with him once, so there's no reason for that not to happen again this time.

Even though he spends most of the night wide awake, he does doze off eventually, into a light sleep that seems to him to last barely a few minutes before he's being woken up suddenly, startled into a sitting position of his own when he sees Bones is awake again. ]

Bones— Leonard, hey, it's okay. [ He gets to his feet quickly, walking over to his hammock and resting a hand on his shoulder. ] It's alright. What's wrong, are you hurt?
