From the look on Marcos' face, it's pretty easy to tell that he doesn't come with great news. They'll either have to agree to do something none of them will be happy about, or refuse and open themselves up for another attack, if they even let them leave. There are no good options, and that's at least partially his fault.

"In theory, it could have gone worse." He's alive to tell him about it, so that's something. It was a surprise that he was given a chance to talk it over, but he's fairly sure it's only the illusion of a choice. He's implicating their entire group by telling them, but they deserve to know what they're up against.
