It wouldn't be the objects cursing you. They don't have curses attached to them. It would be the spirits of the dead that they belong to.
And then you'll have to perform a task for them for them to remove the curse. That's usually how those work.
[It's not science, but there's a logic to it nonetheless.]
They did tell you about the Ancestors' curse, right?
