"You were? Is there something wrong?" Rufus is surprised when Lily seems to appear out of nowhere to put a hand on his arm. He winces just slightly- ever since he had touched some gifts the villagers had brought and they had crumbled into dust the second he had touched them.

That had been awkward.

But so far it hadn't happened to anyone but the reflex is there without thinking about it and he's grateful for the gloves covering the palms of his hands. They hurt but until he can find a way to break that ancestral curse he's just going to have to learn to deal with it.
