Well, the sin I have to atone for belongs to a man who had been a chef who had made a bit of a name for himself and then came to show off his supposed skills. It was not very well received. He stuck around a little and made it difficult for others through sabotage.

Naturally, for someone so prideful and spiteful, the best atonement would be to destroy whatever shred of good will and reputation he had left.

[Is it though...? There were probably better ways to atone, more sincere ones, but this was exactly in his wheelhouse and so he went with that.]

Stories of him originally coming here because he actually had no prospects elsewhere, stories of a grandparent becoming sick after eating the food cooked by this person...things like that. I I've begun laying some groundwork for all those rumours, but another voice will surely help.
