Heya! So — first off, massive apologies for the delay, RL struck for a few days on this end. But I just wanted to throw a few more options at you, in case the "drink the thing to avoid blowing your cover" trick doesn't work for Wrath.
I can try to "sell you" the following:
— the villager who introduces Wrath to the concept of curses, noticing his hesitations, might calmly say that she understands this is a difficult undertaking for foreigners. But these curses are 'ripe' and have 'cooked' for decades, nay, centuries. The ancestors must be atoned for now. So, she will take this drink intended for Wrath and wear the curse on Wrath's behalf, if he does not accept it. She is, after all, very good with curses: she can show Wrath her limbs or body, which bear the marks of at least three other active curses. Life is hard when you're an atonement junkie. So maybe Wrath could take the hit to avoid this lady curse-suiciding from an overload?
— alternatively, if that's still not quite cutting it, the one coercion-style option I can think of is: as the Merchant's liaison in Ke-Waihu and as someone slightly more aware of the group's need to integrate, Taksui could take it upon himself to slip the elixir into Wrath's wine, water, soup, whatever he consumes. And he'd probably expect Wrath to thank him for it.
If that's not doing it either... we can try to troubleshoot more options, or. Wrath could headquarter in the forest? The only trouble there is he wouldn't get a curse, if you wanted him to, but arguably these woods are a curse in and of themselves.
