[ oh, he was not happy to drink that mixture, but after a couple of tries it finally went down. And like this he became part of the village, even if he found somewhat humiliating to have to be stripped and dunked into cold water, and then have all his things taken away like that - except the cursed doll because of course the cursed doll simply showed up next to him out of no where once someone took it away. But after that ordeal, kaneki begins to realize what inheriting the curse meant.
His hands starts to show wound, deep cuts that normally his ghoul body would heal almost immediately. Honestly? He isn't entirely TOO bothered by it as much as he should be because kaneki has a lack of self-care that tells him he doesn't have to bother. He wraps his hands with clothing and that's good enough for him, ignoring any possibly pain most people would feel.
The problem, of course, is when he starts touching things and they just rot away thanks to the first curse Greed It's frustrating to some degree, and some people might see Kaneki struggle grabbing new clothes he would like to wear but end up just turning into dust. Or that chair he grabbed for some reason? it just breaks. After few attemps, he just sits at the front of his new house, poking the doll that never leaves his side. Apparently she doesn't rot away like the rest. How lucky is he? Regardless, anyone who might know Kaneki will perhaps notice some changes in behavior as he is now a bit... more clingy. And people he doesn't know yet? Well, he might cling to them too if they give him the chance; this compulsion to keep others close is again not new, but honestly? Usually Kaneki doesn't act upon it.
The second curse - gluttony - is surprisingly a lot easier to handle. Because Ken is always hungry, that's not something that bothers him. And thoughts of cannibalism are always there because he is a cannibal, so again it's nothing new. But it's clear he slowly gets sicker with time. But at least he knows how to handle himself - he visits the Witches’ huts often to find some... food. They have necromancers there, so undead are something he can eat, or he simply eats the bodies that have not yet been revived. Anyone paying attention might notice him going there often, and sometimes even coming out with his bag full of food for later.
Anyone is welcome to stop him or talk to him while he explores the village. The white hair on a kid that looks 14 (he is 19) is easy to spot and probably a bit different from usual, so he might get a few funny looks. ]
