[He had never liked being on a boat, it had made him feel disoriented and this was no exception. His eyes focus on the dark water, the swirling shapes underneath the surface. He remembers the warning about keeping the light going but staring at the water it seems the world has faded around him.
He feels as if he's being pulled under the black water, the memory pitch blackness pulling him under the surface with that voice in his ear- he doesn't close his eyes because he knows what he would see, those piercing green eyes sharing back at him.
He has to focus. It takes him a moment to realize that he's clutching the side of the boat tightly, leaning over entirely too far. That had been too close, he doesn't want to think about what would have happened if he had been so stupid as to let himself get pulled over.
He has to focus on keeping the the light going but the flame is sputtering and before he can try to keep it going, it blows out.]
Ahoy,Land
[The suit presents its challenges- Rufus has never worn anything so bulky and heavy but it also makes him feel uncomfortably defenseless at the same time.
Trying to load his shotgun is incredibly difficult with the limited visiablity and the thick gloves- years of training serves him well but the task is almost impossible. But he's hands remain steady despite how tiring it was to figure this out.
There is no getting around the fact that he has to take the helmet off to properly aim but since food is a bit of a necessity he's going to have to risk whatever side effects there are at least for a few minutes.
He had never been hunting before but the concept wasn't that different than what he was trained for. The animal is large and hair, not exactly something that will win any beauty contests but it will have to do. He feels the burn on his skin as he lines up the shot, but ignores it as he takes aim.
He's out of practice, more than he cares to admit, but the shot hits the animal well enough to take it down with one round and he can't help but feel pleased despite the circumstances.]
