[ Marcos spent days trying to feel for his powers. Days spent desperate for answers and numb to the horrific visions that slammed into them no matter how he tried to fight against them. Of course it's not until they escaped their cage and improvised to get past the guards in the tunnels that he can sense them flowing back. It happens long after they've been following their rescue party, none he recognizes but all of whom he's overwhelmingly grateful for. Who knows how lost they would have been if they'd tried to navigate this place on their own? Or if they'd ever have gotten this far if a stranger hadn't tossed them the keys?
He doesn't know everything that took to orchestrate, but it quickly becomes apparent as they make their way back. They'd chosen what seemed to be the way they came in. It's disorienting, and he's fairly sure that the sedation he was on hasn't totally left him when they passed what looks like a sleeping dragon.
Even dripping wet from the moat, he's feeling stronger the further away they get. He holds his hand up to illuminate the dark confined space in front of them with a faint glow, and the warmth that spreads from his palm is comforting in the chill air. ]
What is that?
[ The sides of the pipes shine with black tar. One he recognizes it, he lets his light dim in case he accidentally sets it on fire. Did they make it all this way in the dark? He's made some dicey recuses before, but he can't believe what they went through to get to them. ]
You guys really came all this way for us?
ii. everyone together now ( outside )
[ Stumbling on a dragon, now awake and rampaging, is not how he expected this to end. Their escape through the aqueducts was long and tiring, but Marcos doesn't hesitate to assist the people who freed them. Even if he still has so many questions that will seem more important once they survive this. -- Of course he thought of Evangeline when he first saw the dragon, but she'd probably be insulted now that it's attacking... if she's still alive somewhere. He wishes briefly that she were here, then immediately feels guilty for wishing this on anyone.
When he sees someone fighting off another living corpse, he takes a deep breath and shoots a precise beam of light from his hand over their shoulder until it starts to smolder and burn. ]
You okay? [ God that's an awful smell. Marcos catches himself as the ground shakes and he looks back to the dragon trying to topple the tower. He grimaces and tries to think. He could... possibly burn a hole but the ice is going up a lot quicker than he could melt it. ] How many people are in there?
